Probably you read this already in the description of the ECU Dual Mapping Switch but one of the main challenges on motorcycles using the Weber Marelli IAW 1.6M ECU is that they have the complete programming stored in a EPROM chip. The programming in these ECU's can not be flashed for new programming like on most modern ECU's. The only way to reprogram these ECU's is to swap the complete EPROM chip for one with a new program. So there is were i started all my developments.
With special equipment I can erase EPROM chips. This makes it possible to reuse this EPROM chips if adjustments on your programming are needed. There are also OPT (One Time Programming) versions availeble. They can not be erased but are very solid so if your 100% happy with your programming this would be a very good option.
Then I also have special equipment to write the data back into the EPROM chip. There are also OPT (One Time Programming) versions availeble. They can not be erased but are very solid so if your 100% happy with your programming this would be a very good option.
I use a modified version of TunerPro to create the programming i need for writing the EPROM chips. This program enables me to adjust all the important parameters relevant to a perfect running bike. Beside that I have some pricvate software I use to get it right.
So all in a days work. Tuning mappings testing ECU modifications. Developing features. Programming EPROM chips. What more can a man want. Just ask me if you seen me at one of the events i dont mind sharing my knowledge.
